A Humble Beginning (1948-1954)

1960-69 The most popular Porsche model between 1960-69 was the Porsche 91112. Introduced in 1964, the 911 quickly became an icon in the automotive world due to its distinctive design, rear-engine layout, and exceptional performance. The 911 was initially designated as the 901, but due to a trademark dispute with Peugeot, it was renamed the 911.

The 911’s success was further bolstered by various versions introduced during the decade, including the 911T, 911S, and 911E. Its enduring legacy has made it one of the most recognizable and beloved sports cars in history

1980-89 The most popular Porsche model between 1980-89 was the Porsche 911. The 911 continued to be a favourite among enthusiasts, with notable versions like the 911 Carrera. The 1980s saw significant updates to the 911, including the introduction of the Getrag G50 transmission in 1987 and an increase in horsepower.
